Our History
Since Christmas 2024 Copeland Fabric and wool, has been providing high quality fabric wool and haberdashery to our local customers.
Founder, Marie Hunter mum off three daughters, had a passion for all things craft from an early age especally dressmaking, with 41 year experience in the bridal and textile industry, I saw a need for a store
Since Christmas 2024 Copeland Fabric and wool, has been providing high quality fabric wool and haberdashery to our local customers.
Founder, Marie Hunter mum off three daughters, had a passion for all things craft from an early age especally dressmaking, with 41 year experience in the bridal and textile industry, I saw a need for a store that offered a wide variety of fabrics at affordable prices. My aim was to offer my fellow crafters an accessible home from home crafting area that also supports local people to find the mental and emotional joy for new and old crafting skills.
Marie has enjoyed over 41 years of Bridal design and production. Marie also gained skills in crochet and art through her beloved auntie Pauline. Now Marie is passing on those skills to local children and adults alike. Marie firmly believes that exploring crafting of all types give you a real sense of achievement and pride, and is also the very best hobby to aid a positive mental health.
Marie is your tutor for all sewing and dressmaking courses, beginners crochet, painting embroidery and everything Bridal. Including floristry.
Claire Cope, mum of two is our shop manager and tutor for everything sublimination.
Martha O'connor tutor of Quilting, Japaneese embroidery, papercraft and card making.
Martha O'connor is an American scrapbooker and quilter who lives in Copeland. Martha has been quilting and scrapbooking for over two decades and previously demonstrated on Ideal world shopping channel for Generations Brand. Martha enjoys teaching and has a genuine love of crafting.
Whitney Hamer, tutor of beginners crochet, intermediate crochet and advanced crochet.
Pip Bachmann Tutor of machine embroidery and lead tutor of kids club. Pip originally followed her love of art especially grafic novels. Pips enjoys teaching others the joys of machine embroidery patterns and design including children .

FREE Craft and Natter
10am to 12 noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Everyone welcome!
